Asynchronous programming with lwt

General overview of approaches to asynchronous programming: state machines, callbacks, coroutines. Introduction to lwt with examples. Practical knowledge of OCaml is desirable, but not required. This is "what OCaml has to efficiently solve practical problems" kind of talk.

Just in case, my phone number is 84385418.

Actually our guess of Lwt_unix.sleep behaviour appeared to be almost correct - it immediately registers the timer and returns the thread that is wakened by the scheduler when the timer is ready, see https://github.com/ocsigen/lwt/b...

Any special requirements for the meetup, apart from standard OPAM/OCaml installation? I think it's better to prepare the environment well in advance as it was a major headache last two times.

I expect this to be more "theoretical" talk, no coding is required.
But of course if you feel like experimenting - please do :)
      opam install lwt should suffice.

Please take note, location changed to TKP Conference Center at Raffles Place - http://tkp.com.sg/access.shtml

I am currently looking for a new location for the talk, because Ahrefs office will not be able to accomodate 10+ people comfortably in one room. Most probably it will be The Office at Chinatown but it is not final yet - stay tuned.
