Hey Everyone,

The Occupy Palo Alto General Assembly Meeting has been scheduled! Yay!

We had a clear winner for This Tuesday October 18th, 2011 at 6pm, in Lytton Plaza, Downtown Palo Alto.

Again this is just our first meeting, and at the meeting we will discuss more about meeting times and come to consensus on it. Most people voted for weekly meetings, but we can finalize that at the meeting as well. Bring supplies, sign making materials, pens, sticks. And other items important for notes and the meeting.

If anyone wants to create a flyer and nice email for the meeting, please do. Thank you all so much, and I look forward to working together and building consensus on solutions to improve our society.

See you soon,

I'm sorry I missed the GA on Sunday, but I expected there to be another scheduled for Tuesday (today). We had more or less agreed to have a weekly meeting on this date. Can anyone confirm when our next GA will be, especially if it will be today. Thanks --Fabrice

Tuesday GAs are for the immediate future on Tuesdays at 6pm at University Lutheran Church, 1611 Stanford Ave (@ Bowdoin), Palo Alto. Map here: http://g.co/maps/u6tez

Another meeting ends thereat 6pm, so hang outside and give the other folks some time to take their leave. Limited parking in the church lot and on Stanford Ave. An alternative is Bowdoin, the cross street with Stanford. (Note you can't turn directly onto Bowdoin from Stanford because of a traffic barrier.)

A power elite has evolved that now owns most of the country's wealth and controls the media and the government. It's so entrenched that no populist reformer can be elected. The only thing that can change this situation now is MASSIVE popular uprising. OWS started such a process, but to be effective, the groups it has spawned need to grow to the point where they attract media and public attention. Until then, they will remain mere discussion groups. Growth is thus of paramount importance.

Do we have facilitators and an agenda for the General Assembly? I don't know if there's already a working group on it, but I'd volunteer to help co-facilitate. I can show up 45 mins early. Also, I know of a bunch of people who plan to show up around 7pm.

Tuesday just doesn't work for me. I work those days and get home at around 7:00 p.m. I'll try to get there when I can, but it definitely won't be often. Sorry!

Yes, I've actually made a flier that provides a link to where people can find a credit union that will work for them. I plan on bringing it to the Saturday protest.

My transportation fell through today, so I won't be able to attend today's meeting. Hope someone will update with a summary of the meeting afterwards.
Thanks, and have a great meeting!
