We're kicking off the summer local dive season at Dutch Springs this weekend, and the weather couldn't be better (forecast calling for sunny skies and a high of 82 degrees).

Get out your season passes, your laminated Dutch Springs underwater maps and your 7mm suits; dust off your barbecue grills, your spatulas, your coolers and whatever other paraphernalia you might bring to the best picnic of the season. We're reserving a spot where we can congregate and grill, hang our banner and party like diving rock stars. Dutch Springs will never have seen the likes of this!

Those who want to dive early: meet at the park when it opens at 8:00 AM. Picnickers should be there by 1:00 PM.

* Transportation, carpooling, etc: Please try to share rides, whether you need one or have one to offer (see link above for message board discussion).

* Food: We typically do a BYOG (Bring Your Own Grub), just bring a little extra to share.

* Camping: If you feel up for a camping experience, feel free to make a weekend out of it. Several members will be camping and diving all weekend (overnight lows in the low 60s).

* Rates: See DutchSprings.com for full rate information, but here are a few.... Daily admission: $26 (diver), $19 (non-diver). Camping: $10/night/person, plus next day's admission. Saturday night dive: $5. Tank fills: $6 (air), $13 (nitrox).
