- Many workers now spend at least 70% of their working day at a desk so getting up, stretching and moving is great for circulation. muscle maintanence, lungs and fresh air is needed. Swimming is a full body movement activity
- Much working time is spent in small proximity to furniture and walls, a bit like being in a box much of the time so getting outdoors where there is wide open space is good psychologically
These are just some of the benefits of course, not to mention connecting with nature and feeling great during and after the swim.
Note for beginners who don't exercise at all - the group is not very competitive and there is always room for slow swimmers as well as fast. You will need to achieve a certain level of swimming skill and ability in order to do ocean swims - see the event requirements, but in every case you are responsible for what the swim or activity is that you choose to participate in. The group does not take responsibility for the choices of each individual, it is here to offer exciting and enjoyable swimming options.
The main idea is that everyone is comfortable participating at their own pace and won't be made to feel like they need to be fitter, faster, fatter, skinnier etc.
Ocean swims with the group are throughout the year, summer and winter.
