This event is not a beginning class. You must be familiar with the basics of OCF. You must also be very comfortable operating your camera in manual mode and you must own a 580EX or newer flash model. The 430EX is insufficient, as it cannot be a master flash and trigger the remote flash. You should also be comfortable working your way thru the flash menus. If your flash is still in it's box or you've never used it before, this is not the best class for you to start with. I will be offering beginning Off-Camera Flash classes in the near future.
Last minute opportunity for those Canon strobists out there.
My Canon shooter friend is heading to Uganda in two weeks and wants to practice her OCF skills. We'll be focusing exclusively on Canon flashes and how to maneuver the somewhat more complicated wireless menus and modes. The aim is to quickly and efficiently light portraits using OCF techniques and modifiers. We've hired an African American model, so that we can fine tune the challenges with lighting darker skin.
You should own a Canon flash that can be used as a master to trigger the slave. That means a 580EX or later model.
We'll be shooting from the roof of my building and around my neighborhood.
