Re: [off-camera-flash] Your opinion wanted: photo walks, classes, workshops

Hi Christine

I have been to a workshop and a photowalk and I enjoyed both very much. For me, San Francisco is more than an hour away, and time is precious. So even though I would love to attend your workshops and walks I often don't make it. I think you may want to change your fee to a 'voluntary contribution' - most will pay anyhow and it is one less thing to keep one from going. How much would I pay if there was a nominal fee - I think $5 would be no problem, and if I get something in return - I don't know what... guaranteed face-to-face time, a certificate, access to you private photo gallery, ??? - I would pay more.

Hi fellow strobists,

I WOULD LOVE YOUR FEEDBACK.

I have been very surprised in the drop off of interest in my photo walks. I suspect due to the nominal fee I am now charging. In the past the photo walks have been very popular, I'm sure in part bc they were offered for free. As many of you who have been to one know, my photo walks are also mini photo workshops on both OCF and anything else photography related.  They were more than just a gathering point before everyone scattered off by themselves, like many other photo walks are.

To explain quickly, I decided to charge a nominal fee for two reasons, to reduce the amount of no-shows and bc I believe I was offering a great value, something that has been echoed back to me by participants and thru online feedback.

I would like to make this meetup group the best photography meetup group in the Bay Area. To do that I need your help! Please share your opinion.

1) Do you care about photo walks (with an emphasis on OCF)?

2) What types of events, classes, workshops would you like to see offered?

3) How much are you willing to pay to participate?

4) Anything else you'd like to suggest that you would participate in?

Cheers and thanks for your time!

Christine
