Re: [off-camera-flash] Your opinion wanted: photo walks, classes, workshops

Hi Christine,

I have attended a few of your workshops and one photowalk.  I enjoyed the piano workshop and felt that is was worth the fee.  I also live in the South Bay, so participation isn't as consistant  as I would like it to be.

The photowalk in Saratoga -- I was looking forward to learning more about OCF.  However, I guess two groups got combined and we ended up just shooting with no OCF.  I had asked a friend to join me, since she was interested learning more about OCF.  So that event was a little disappointing.

The next photowalk in SF was cancelled and I was unable to attend the rescheduled time.

I do believe that your time is certainly worth a fee, and don't mind paying, as long as there is some educational value.

Hi fellow strobists,

I have been very surprised in the drop off of interest in my photo walks. I suspect due to the nominal fee I am now charging. In the past the photo walks have been very popular, I'm sure in part bc they were offered for free. As many of you who have been to one know, my photo walks are also mini photo workshops on both OCF and anything else photography related.  They were more than just a gathering point before everyone scattered off by themselves, like many other photo walks are.

To explain quickly, I decided to charge a nominal fee for two reasons, to reduce the amount of no-shows and bc I believe I was offering a great value, something that has been echoed back to me by participants and thru online feedback.

I would like to make this meetup group the best photography meetup group in the Bay Area. To do that I need your help! Please share your opinion.

1) Do you care about photo walks (with an emphasis on OCF)?

2) What types of events, classes, workshops would you like to see offered?

3) How much are you willing to pay to participate?

4) Anything else you'd like to suggest that you would participate in?

Cheers and thanks for your time!
