“ A good group of pet-lovers, well-behaved dogs and friendly, caring dog-owners. We hope this group will help us and our dogs become more at home in our new hometown. This event was organized by Amy and she's got a great vision for the group. ”

“ I think a safe dog park for our canine buddies is such a worthy cause and good investment of my time. This group is well organized and keeps me informed and I really like that as well. As a dog trainer for www.puppymanners.com I have a lot of clients and friends as well in Kirkland and I'm working hard to get them onboard as well. ”

“ Other communities around us have off leash parks. It's time for Kirkland to have one. We have a wonderful city filled with great dogs and great dog owners. We humans are ready to make it happen! ”

“ We STILL need to let the City of Kirkland know about the how strong the need is in the community for off leash areas! We want your input in designing a plan for community dog parks that works for you. ”

“ I want to thank Jean and Amy for their Herculean efforts and tenacity to get a dog park established for our community. I initially joined the effort many years ago and attended many CC meetings but had not joined this meetup group so took that next step and actually signed on. I look forward to working with clients and friends so we can combine our efforts and support to accomplish our goal. I have always lived in Kirkland and love our city and beautiful park system and look forward to enjoying the company of other dog owners and their dogs in a legal off leash park! Diane ”

“ nice group of people, hope we get the OLA in kirkland soon! ”
— Denise and Henry & E. on Jul 4, 2010.
“ Very encouraging City Council meeting. I applaud KDOG group organizers and volunteers in everything they've done so far. Seems like Kirkland is one of the few Eastside cities with out an off leash dog park. City of Kirkland already owns the proposed site so lets jump through the hoops together and then we can let the dogs run free in our own legal off leash park !!! ”

“ thank you for organizing this. I was so surprised to find out that Kirkland doesn't have an off-leash park after moving here. I've lived in Seattle for 7 years and have made good use of their dog parks even before I had a pup of my own. It never occured to me that a city wouldn't have a dog park, especially one with so many dog owners. My condo complex alone could fill 1/2 a park, as most all of us have at least one dog. I live just north of Kirkland in unincorporated king co., and found your group by googling off-leash parks in kirkland. Only to be directed to a city website stating that there were none. Although not all of us live in the city, many people like me work in, and go here every day and would love our dogs to be welcomed here as well. ”

“ I think many more people want a dog park in kirkland than the city council realizes. We need to get the word out to everyone that we should speak up for what the city wants. Dog parks are also a great community resource, I moved recently from Tucson, which had several dog parks, and I met several friends from chatting at the dog park. ”
