Hi members! Our next walk will be on Saturday, September 19th @ 10:00 a.m. at Callingwood Off Leash Park. This is a great little park park with picnic tables and camp stoves. Because the park is small we will probably walk around it twice. I've also posted some pictures of our Monday's walk at Hermitage. It was really fun and one of the reasons I really enjoyed it was because I was finally able to get to talk to everyone on the walk. For the walk at Callingwood the 'Mighty Mutts' will be joining us. 'Mighty Mutts' are dogs that are 15 pounds and less. Scheri Manson is the organizer of this group and asked if 'Mighty Muts' could socialize with our larger dogs at a safe park. At the beginning, could I ask that you leash your dogs, just so that the smaller dogs will have some time to get comfortable with the larger dogs and aren't overwhelmed. After the dogs do some socializing and get comfortable with each other, we will continue on to walk the park offleash. For those who haven't been there take the Whitemud Drive (Freeway) to 170th Street. Go South on 170th Street and turn West (right) on 69th Avenue. At your first set of lights (172nd Street) you turn North (right). Take your first left into the parking lot. It's quite easy to find. Walk down the path to the open area and I will meet you at the picnic table to the right. If you are going to be late or you get lost you can call me on my cell [masked]. I'll only have it on for our walk. Looking forward to seeing you and your pooch on Saturday, September 19th @ 10:00 a.m. and let's welcome the 'Might Mutts' at this walk and show them what responsible dog owners we are! Calliingwood is our home park and I love it. There are a lot of little dogs there and the 'regulars'are very friendly. Its great for Aritie and me because its small and I often have trouble walking long distances. There are some fun trails in there.

I really enjoyed the Mighty Mutts and just sittting at the end of the walk to watch all the dogs interact (big and small). Sorry Scheri that you couldn't make it. Really hoping your doggie is o.k. Please let me know.
The parking wasn't good for the amount of people that we had. There was street parking but not that convenient.
The park is small but it is still a nice park in the middle of a major city! I still can't stress how many great offleash parks there are in the city of Edmonton! One of the parks I haven't been to is St. Albert! I've heard they have a great Off Leash Park. For those that want to test it (as I), I will be meeting Nicole at 6:00 p.m. on September 30th. I'll check out the park and then have a meetup there. If you want to come to the pre-meetup let me know and I will give you directions.

Its kind of a small area, with limited parking, but the people and dogs were great. For me it was a great start for my young dog, Georgie.

Nice to see all the dogs, large and small, enjoying a great fall day. I hope that some of the Mighty Mutts join the off-leash group and come again!
