Big Bear Off Leash Park

What a great day for our walk today at Mill Creek Off Leash Park , sunny and no wind. For November 14th, that's pretty good! Lot's of different dogs and sizes of dogs, the youngest being 11 week old Bull Terrier (Samson) to the oldest dog (not too sure which one that would be, maybe my dog Vickie 5 1/2 years). Members if I'm wrong let me know the age of your dog. When we left the park the Chow Chow (Zhao) was too tired to muster up the strength to go to car (see the pictures I posted). The total number of owners today was 16 and the number of dogs were 14 and they all got along (human and dogs alike!) Our next organized meetup will be at Big Bear Off Leash Park on Sunday, November 29th at 2:30 p.m. Don't worry about the name as I don't think there are any Big Bears around! There are trees and valleys and a nice walk by the ravine. If it is below -15 the walk will be postponed. To get to Big Bear Park, get on 111th Street and go East on 19th Avenue. Then go South on 109th Street; and I know this sounds strange but you turn right again on 109th Street. Go to the end of the orange fence (if it's still there) and you'll see my sign. There is street parking there. If you get lost or are going to be late, call me on my cell. I'll only have it on for the walk. (780) 690-5256. Looking forward to seeing you and your pooch(es) on Sunday, November 29th @ 2:30 p.m. Jean Coates, Organizer Sam, Vickie & Vegas

This seemed like a nice park, but on the day we went it was very icy on the walking trails, which made it difficult to walk. Because of the ice once we were off the trails the walk was over, it went by fast, 30 min and it was over. I would go to this park again...but with out the ice...ha ha

It was great, a little icey in spots but very nice scenery and my dog, Quincey had the time of her life. It was the first time her and I were ever at a off leash park and it won't be our last.

    Thank you Joan.......

The park is good although quite icy in some spots. The people and their dogs were great! There were close to 40 people so I had a hard time getting around to talking to everyone (especially the newcomers). I hope everyone enjoyed themselves.

The trails were too icy...saw a few people wipe out! have to stick to flatter trails in the winter.

Jean thank you for organizing this event,Sasha and me really enjoyed our walk at Big Bear on Sunday.

I enjoyed meeting others that share the same interests in their pets. I would have liked the walk to have been a little longer. Sasha got her allotment of exercise but I could have used a little more. LOL
