Riverside West Off Leash Park

This picture was taken at Riverside Off Leash Park on January 19th, 2012.

Our next Off Leash walk will be at Riverside West Off Leash Park on Sunday, January 19th @ 10:30 a.m. This Off Leash Park runs along side of the Saskatchewan River. It is quite scenic with lots of trees. This walk will take approximately 50 to 60 minutes return.

To get to Riverside Park, you first need to find the Dawson Bridge.

If you are travelling from North to South on the bridge, you must cross the bridge and as soon as you cross it, take the very 1st right turn into a parking lot.

If you are travelling from South to North, do not cross the bridge. Just before the bridge take a left hand turn into a parking lot.

The park is across from Riverside Golf course. There is lots of parking in the lot. Drive up to the upper part of the parking lot and you'll see me set up on the left hand side. Don't look at the google map posted as it is never correct. If you follow my directions, you should be o.k.

If you get lost or are going to be late, call me on my cell. I'll only have it on for the walk. (780) 690-5256.

Just a reminder, I know people love to bring treats for the dogs. For our Meetup walks though, can I ask you not to bring dog treats. If you want to bring treats for your own dog (for training purposes) that is certainly acceptable, but please don't feed the other dogs treats. Some of them are allergic to certain food groups. If you bring treats for your own dog, please give it to them away from the other dogs as some dogs (including one of mine) are treat aggressive. I would hate to have any fights break out over something like that. Thanks for your understanding.

Looking forward to walk the walk, talk the talk and bark the bark on Sunday, January 19th at 10:30 a.m.

Jean Coates, Organizer; with dogs Vickie, Vegas, Samantha & Missy

Sorry we missed you guys today. Went to the wrong park. Dawson Park on the other side of the bridge. Had a nice walk anyways!

This park is lovely in the summer, but a bit icy right now. Welcome to first timers Rena & Hugo with their dog Dani. Congrats to Linda & George for getting a 60 walk award. (Andrew accepted the award on behalf of Linda.) Also congrats to Jennifer & Flower who won the prize this week.

We'll give this another try and make sure one of us has eyes on Ollie. His wandering last time had me pretty worried until we found him waiting for us!
