Lower Mill Creek Ravine

This picture was taken St. Patrick's day of last year.

Our next walk will be on Saturday, March 15th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

Why? Because you know your dogs want one more romp in the snow!

Lower Millcreek park has beautiful creeks, bridges and hills. The path is well treed which keeps it sheltered from the wind. For those who haven't been to the Lower Millcreek Ravine, you get on to 99th Street (South side of the river); go East on 69th Avenue; turn right (South) on 93rd Street and take the first left into the U parking lot. There is also street parking if the U is filled. The Google map is sometimes not correct, so just go by my instructions. I'll be set up by the Off Leash sign. If you get lost or are going to be late, call me on my cell at[masked] (I'll only have it on for the walk).

The last couple of parks I've been to lately have been very slippery, so I would suggest that you bring your ice pics if you have some.

Looking forward to seeing you and your pooch(es) on Saturday, March 15th @ 10:00 a.m. to walk the walk, talk the talk and bark the bark! Please be on time as we will be leaving at 10:00 a.m. sharp.

As a reminder, if you bring treats for your dog, please do not feed them to other dogs as they may have allergies to certain things.  And please give your dog treats away from the other dogs as it's unfair for one dog to get and the others not. Thanks.

The park is great. The ice not so great. But all parks are icy right now. With 19 owners and 20 dogs, everyone man, woman & dog had a great time! Welcome to the first timers Sandy with her dogs Chloe & Toni and Stephanie with her dogs Austin & Murphy. Congrats to Ruth with her Great Danes that won the prize this week.

Have a bit of a bug. I should probably stay indoors as much as possible. Fingers crossed for next weekend.

I wont be able to make it- but wanted to be sure everyone was aware of this recent coyote activity.... many people claim the coyotes here do not form packs. Untrue according to this! Seems best not to be in the valley at dusk/dark. http://globalnews.ca/news/1207695/womans-dogs-attacked-by-coyotes-while-walking-in-southwest-edmonton/

I was just there today (Wednesday) and thought it would be lovely for a group walk. But beware, it has some very icy spots because despite the weather it has been protected by shade and hasn't melted like some of the other trails.
