THE WEINER 100 AT KENNYWOOD PARK!

Even if your dog is not participating, meet up and watch the fun! If you don't have a meetup button stop in at Woody's Dog Wash & Boutique to pick one up.

Wiener 100
Hi Everyone! It's Laura Schumm with information on this year's Wiener 100.

The race is set for SUNDAY, June 30th, at 3:00 p.m. Participants will be allowed
in at 2:00 p.m. All registrations will be accepted via the MAIL. 28 dachshunds
will be admitted to the park, and they must be registered in advance. For our
dachshunds' safety as well as the other Kennywood patrons, non-racing dogs are
not permitted to attend. You may begin mailing registrations as soon as you have
gathered the necessary paperwork.

There will be four races, with 7 dogs in each race; for a total of 28 dogs.
Purebred dachshunds only. (Papers are not required.) The first heat will be for
Rookies (Dachshunds that have never raced before.) The second and third is for
Experienced Runners (dachshunds who have participated before, but have not won.)
These will be divided into two groups: under and over 12 lbs. The final heat
will be the Race of Champions (past winners only.)

Owners, who are interested in participating must provide a copy of a current
Rabies Certificate and also a copy of their homeowner's or renter's insurance.
Laura Schumm will keep these in case of an incident and will shred them after
the race is over. Kennywood personnel will not see these.

Kennywood will provide up to 4 complimentary admission tickets to the owner the
day of the Wiener 100. On the day of the race, there must be at least two people
(one at the start; and one at the finish line.) Each owner will also receive 4
additional admission coupons ($159.96 value) to return to Kennywood later in the
summer for a full day of rides and fun.
After the race, we will all gather together for a buffet dinner at one of the
pavilions.

The cost per person is $21.00 (non-refundable) and must be paid for in advance,
so you will need to know how many people are coming with you before you register
for the race. The menu includes all you can eat: Hamburgers, Pulled Pork BBQ,
Roasted Chicken Quarters, Haluski, Italian Pasta Salad, Tossed Salad, and
Watermelon. Pepsi products are free for 3 hours. Since the Wiener 100 is an
opportunity for the Pittsburgh Dachshund Lovers to get to know one another, we
will take the registrations of those owners, who are going to stay for the
buffet first.

I am getting married twelve days after the Wiener 100 and will not have time to
gather and organize prizes/gifts to be given out at the pavilion. If someone
else wants to take this on, I can give you a copy of the donation letter
Michelle and I have sent out in the past. If not, we could have a "White
Elephant---Doxie Style" where everyone brings something dachshund related, and
we surprise each other.

The following is the "Bio" we will use for each entrant. You can copy and paste
it into another document to make it easier to fill out.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
