Let's enjoy a leisurely day with the gorgeous rocky shores, tide pools, nesting birds, marine mammals and wildflowers of Point Lobos State Park. What a great way to celebrate our country! This is not really a hike, so please come only if you want to take time to linger with nature!
Trails: I'm thinking of staying on the south side (Bird Island and Sea Lion Rocks) and stopping for lunch at Pine Flat.
Duration: About 6 hours: 4 hours at the Park and 2 hours travel time.
Bring: State Parks parking pass or your share of $10 parking fee. Also bring camera, binoculars, bird books, sun protection, a sense of awe, and lunch.
Carpool: Meet at the SE corner of the 41st Ave. mall lot in Capitola, near Sears and BofA.
As always, this is an at risk activity, and by joining this hike you agree to hold the organizers and other members harmless. Please read the FAQ.
