We'll hike roughly 6 miles with 500 feet gain on Baldwin Loop and another 200 feet down and up on Enchanted Loop. The first half mile of the Baldwin Loop has more ticks than any other hike we do. The trail has recently been cleared of weeds, so ticks should not be a big problem. Baldwin Loop is sunny and steep with fantastic views. Enchanted Loop is deep forest and streams, lots of ferns and newts (in season). Some parts are very muddy if it rained recently.
The trail head is at the north end Wilder Ranch SP. We will carpool about 15 minutes from Gateway Plaza to 4 mile beach right after the green buildings. We share the trail with bicycles though often none are seen.
