Yep, it was a gorgeous 'Indian Summer' ride with good companions. And riding those sandy trails with narrow touring tires proved--very interesting !

Congratulations Rich! Thanks for all the good times in all the great places you have led us. Another unbelievably good weather day. Sorry to have to cut my ride short - good to see everybody. Thanks for organizing this Larry.

Rich, thanks again for all the hikes you have led. You are one of the handful of folks that are doing the things that we all enjoy!

I just took my bike on a test run after the long overdue tuneup. There is no way I am going to be doing a 10 mile bike ride. Jill and I will meet you folks at the light house and congratulate Rich, and see you folks off. Jill and I will probably walk along Westcliff Drive some, it is a beautiful day once again!

If anyone needs minor bicycle adjustments, let me know and I will be there early with tools.

I have a road bike and would be riding on Highway 1, is that OK?

    January 13, 2014

    • Larry

Once we reach Wilder SP we'll be riding along the cliff. Will you meet us on the Cliff above Four Mile Beach? That is where we will lunch and then return via the same route to the Lighthouse.

Yep, lotza kudos, Rich, for your continuing leadership (and ever so slightly dry humor) on your 500th Take-a-Hike event ! As for specific equipment concerns, was wondering if any roadworthy bike, trike or unicycle will work, if the rider is, so to speak-- up to snuff...

So, so sorry, but my bike is not the ideal bike for this ride. Rich, I have always enjoyed your hikes, thank you and I am looking forward to the next 500.

Is a road bike alright for this ride?

    January 12, 2014

    • Larry

We will be riding the trail along the cliff in Wilder.

I'm guessing that you mean bicycle, not motorcycle when you say bike ride. So, I will put air in the tires and tune up my ancient mountain bike for this occasion. Congratulations Rich!

I'm so bummed I'm working for most of these events. I'd love to know the route, so I can do it on my day off.
