Land of Medicine Buddha Hike

Distance: 5.8 miles

Gain: About 1600 feet

Trail Conditions: Some narrow trails bordered by poison oak.

What to bring: Water, snacks, tick repellent, rain jacket and hat if rain threatens.

Loop through deep forest. The terrain is steep and rugged similar to Nisene Marks. Almost no direct sun. There is one stretch where the trail is narrow and slippery with a steep drop off so consider this if you have balance or coordination issues. The full hike is strenuous and not a good hike for beginners.

It can be cooler here than Santa Cruz so bring layers.

Carpool from the white church parking lot, enter from Main St near Soquel (the church building is closer to Center St).  If you aren't going to be a carpool driver then park on the street nearby since we don't actually have permission to park in the lot.

Please read the FAQ. This is an 'at risk' activity. By joining us on this hike you agree to hold the organizers, assistant organizers, and other members harmless. You are responsible for your own safety on the hike.

Sorry for the late notice, but my house guest has hurt her foot and can't hike today. We'll have to find something else to do. I'm sorry not to be able to show this trail to her.

I've been wanting to do this so badly ! but I can't. Tore my ACL skiing wildly last weekend. Any knee veterans out there with advice? I'm listening.
