Sunday matinee and evening card game in CLEVELAND PARK!
(SO SORRY to change earlier plan, but it really seems that Gallery Place is NOT keeping "Captain America" over another weekend, as I had expected....So UPTOWN instead!)
Captain America is back! Back from fighting the Nazis, Hydra, and gigantic invaders from another dimension! And he's living in Washington, D.C.! And this time he's trying to understand why freedom means a massive military industrial complex and endless spying....
(AND, OK, I admit it--I've already seen the film! It's not as great as the first one, but it's still quite good!)
So if you want to join me, we will be heading to the beloved old UPTOWN theater with the gigantic old-time movie screen! I recommend buying your ticket in advance through Fandango:
Make sure that link shows the 3:45 p.m. Sunday (4/13) showing of "Captain America".
After the film, we'll head to Paragon Thai for a game of Oh, Hell. If you want to skip the film but meet us at Paragon to play cards, I think we'll get there around 6:15.
Both the Uptown and Paragon are very close to the Cleveland Park Metro station (red line). There are also bus lines that run on Connecticut Avenue.
