It will be wonderful to sing with all of you! “We create our own music in a safe and dynamic circle of singers. We each find our unique and personal sound, working alone, in pairs, and in ensemble as we meld intuition and invention with skill and heart. We delve into connecting the forms of spontaneously composed music and storytelling … We hone our skills in melody, harmony and rhythm as well as vocal tone, texture, and dynamics, stretch our intuitive courage, tell our stories, then take our voices wherever we have always wanted to go.”
 Rhiannon

NOTE: For those coming by car, there is plenty of street parking around the little house and the garden next to it.

Bettina - I would like to join on the 13th, so might be able to meet you where ever you plan to park, and we could walk together.

Thanks :) I may take you up on that. From the sound of it, if I go, I'd be better off parking in the library parking lot - I like libraries, and I also am not great at parallel (street) parking.
Maybe I can take another drive to that specific area before the event happens. I think part of the thing is I don't know anyone else going, and it's also at night. I can often feel comfortable with someone after meeting them only once, but this would be the very first meeting.

Well all get there safely, one way or another! Bettina, your idea of cruising by the location during the daytime is a good one. There really is plenty of parking close by, so need for a long walk on a dark street! :-)

This sounds really fun. I am definitely interested in this group, in general, but I'm a little scared of downtown. (And I've been to other downtowns.)
It even sounds like a really cool kind of place (The Commons), but I've been further up (closer to 4th and State) on Adams and my partner and I felt very uncomfortable with the feeling of it (not just typical stuff many people feel uncomfortable with). It was especially bad in the parking lot in that area.
My theory is I may feel more comfortable if I go downtown with someone I know who knows and likes the area. Until then, however, I'll be pretty hesitant to go to a new event there, especially by myself.
Does anyone have other ideas, insights, or meeting locations?

Come learn some of the magic, art and pleasure of group vocal improvisation – jazz created with human voices and bodies. You will find this joyfully familiar – like play, like lullabyes, like childhood, like making up songs on long car rides. It can be sweet, powerful, tribal, funny, soulful, intimate and sometimes scary. It is play. It is spirit. It is communal. It is a kind of dancing, using voices as well as bodies. So -- bring your voices and selves. Wear soft clothes – we will be moving as well as sitting and singing.
