The August meetup will be held downtown at The Washington Post.

Ever wonder what it takes to tell a quality video story on the Web without narration? Medill professor Mary Coffman will offer tips about the kind of stories that are best told without a reporter voice-over. She will also focus on techniques for getting high quality video and sound to enhance any story on the Web.

Mary Coffman is an associate professor of broadcast journalism and video storytelling in Medill’s Washington Program. Her students produce stories for the Medill News Service, which has as clients newspapers, television and radio stations, and Web sites. They also produce multi-media stories for Medill Reports, Medill’s Web site. Coffman’s areas of expertise include training in video storytelling, backpack journalism, and liveshots. In addition, she has focused throughout her career on political reporting of national, regional and local issues.

Coffman recently developed video storytelling and live reporting workshops for print students in light of Medill’s major curriculum change known as Medill 2020. Spring 2009, she shot, edited and produced a training video about backpack journalism designed to show what it takes to do it all by yourself. http://news.medill.no...

I want to share my excitement about this Meetup. If it's anything like last the last meetup, it'll be better than the 1985 classic movie "Legend," starring Tom Cruise and Tim Curry. We're talking serious unicorn awesomeness. Better believe.

Does any one want to get a coffee or a small bite to eat before the meet up begins? I work downtown on 19th street, near Farragut West metro. Write back to this or go to [masked]. Thanks!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
