I have to hire some temporary Web staffers between mid-February and end of April to help out with the launch of our redesigned website. Roughly eight people, including someone with management experience. Some of the positions may become permanent, but I can't promise anything because we are in the middle of a reorg. What's the best way to get the word out to the local ONA group?

Actually, I got off the waiting list, but by that time I had made other plans. Not sure how to improve things because I don't really understand how the system works. Popular events seem to be full no matter how quickly I respond. Do you send emails in batches over a period of time? Would I get an email after an earlier batch? First-come, first-served is probably the best way as long as there is a level playing field.

Laura, email for October meetup just arrived. Responded immediately. Discovered there was already a waiting list. If the invites are going to arrive with a waiting list ... well, it explains why I keep missing the most interesting events.
