Richard Karpel from ASNE asked that I pass this along to you. I'll be there too - so let me know if you can make it.
The American Society of News Editors has a new name, a new direction and new members.
But perhaps the biggest change at ASNE is the program at this year's annual convention, which will be held in less than three weeks (April 11-14) at the J.W. Marriott on Pennsylvania Ave.
The convention program focuses on innovation and collaboration, and will cover subjects like mobile journalism, content-sharing networks, multimedia storytelling, investigative collaborations, the changing role of the editor and managing the 24/7 news cycle.
Confirmed speakers include Eric Schmidt, Dave Eggers, Tom Curley, and Arianna Huffington.
Another first: Day passes are now available for the ASNE convention and ONA members are eligible to buy them at ASNE-member rates. To take advantage of the special ONA rates, click the "register" link in the "NewsNow Partners" section on the left rail of the convention website < http://www.asne.org/annual_conference/1-registrationhotel.aspx
