ONADC Summer School Series kicks off June 10 with video production

New York, NY
Post #: 1
We're happy to announce our group will be kicking off a series of monthly training sessions, in addition to our monthly meetups! These sessions are open to area journalists, using the expertise and facilities of USA TODAY in McLean, Va., thanks to a $9,800 grant from the Gannett Foundation.

The first full-day event will be held Thursday, June 10, from 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., ending with a networking happy hour. Steve Elfers and Garrett Hubbard of USA TODAY have graciously offered to teach you everything they know. This will include the basics of video and production, including editing, camera choices and production/hosting solutions. Rob Mennie, vice president and senior news executive at Gannett Broadcasting, will also be on hand to provide insights on what's next for video. He has also hinted the networking happy hour is on his to-do list!

Because of the hands-on-nature of the workshops, registration is limited to 40 attendees. Cost for one session is $20 for ONA members, $35 for non-ONA members.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Registration for the June 10 workshop is now open.
