Cossington Mill

I have been keeping an eye on the weather forecasts and it looks like Friday and Sunday are going to be OK but Saturday is looking like rain all day so please keep checking on here as this walk might not go ahead as this area will be very wet and very muddy and would not be a very pleasant place to walk.

Weather permitting( as this can be a very wet and muddy area) we will meet in Cossington Village near The Royal Oak pub. we will then walk down main street to Platts lane and down to Syston lane,at which point we will make our way into the Cossington Mill and weir area, we'll follow a circular route bringing us back up into Platts lane and then had back to the Royal Oak for a drink.According to the maps the route will be around Three to Three and a quater miles and take just shy of an hour but as we're not going at a mad pace, count on just over an hour. I'll post some more details up here later

The postcode of the Royal Oak is LE7 4UW

Here's a link to google maps showing how to get to cossington and where we are meeting. http://goo.gl/maps/Qgc2N

Hi Andy. Have a feeling I might struggle with leading on 1st June so if you do have to cancel as a last resort, by all means postpone it to 1st June instead which might be more conducive to Cossington Mill given how much it's rained all week. Have a great walk if it does go ahead and thanks again for leading.

No worries Graham, thanks for getting in touch. Being a fairweather walker, I'm probably won't be too gutted to miss tomorrow, but in saying that, hope the rain does old out for you's. Maybe another time.

Hi Andrew. Mary & I were discussing this only last night and we did say if it's raining we most probably would not want to go. I'm happy if you cancel it and I know Mary will be. Do you have a phone number and we will confirm early Saturday morning if you don't cancel it?

Hi everyone, I have been keeping an eye on the weather forecasts and it looks like Friday and Sunday are not bad but Saturday they are forecasting heavy rain for most of the day, so I am just seeing if everyone still wants to go ahead with this walk as it will be very wet and very muddy..
