A lovely walk to somewhere that I've never been to before. Shame we couldn't have spent more time in the woods and had a longer walk

Thanks. I agree. Unfortunately I can't plan a walk in a wood on my own cos it's not safe. I normally set aside around 3hrs for working out a circular route through trial and error. I had to find a friend to take me there in the car the weekend beforehand and we only had 2 hrs to figure out a circular walk through the wood before he had to leave for work...

Hi Lizzie, it was not a criticism in any way, all I meant was that I had really enjoyed it in the wood and would have liked to have explored it further, now I know where Martinshaw woods are I will definately go back for more walks there. I, as I am sure ALL the members of 'One hour walks Leicester' would like to say a big Thank You for organising the walks and really appreciate all the time that you put into it. It's a great group, really friendly and I look forward to the walks and time spent with fellow members immensley,

Wellies recommended as you really will get your shoes caked in mud on the few extremely muddy bits!

Tried it out this afternoon. The wood part of the walk will be no more than 40mins. EXTREMELY muddy for about 20% of the route. Will involve jumping a tiny muddy stream with steep (but not high) drop either side and a couple of slight d-tours from the worst of the mud that will involve a bit of walking through 'overgrowth' on less well-trodden paths, ducking under the odd little tree branch, just to the side of the main path!
