Soul on the Strip: Onyx Trip to Las Vegas

  • Mar 25, 2010 · 9:00 AM

Greetings Onyx, Okay, we've been considering a trip to Vegas since
2008 and it's time to make the Onyx Soul on the Strip reality for 2010. [WARNING: Long message ahead]
Destination: LAS VEGAS of course!!!
Why Las Vegas? Vegas' famous tagline aside ("What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas"), there is really something for everyone in Vegas, even if you aren't into gambling. During the day there are the fabulous pools, spas, shopping and shows. I'd also be down for a mini trip to the Grand Canyon if others are interested. This trip will also be during March Madness for all of you basketball fans. From lounges to clubs to pubs, the possibilities for a night out in Vegas are endless. Did I mention fine dining? So they'll be no shortage of options for everyone to relax and have fun. Are you excited yet??..... well then, let's get into the nitty gritty details that I have so far
When: Thursday March 25, 2009- Sunday March 28, 2009 Yes, I realize it's short but the upside is it will require people to use a mere
two days of vacation time. Obviously, people can choose to arrive/leave earlier or later as desired.
Airfare: I'm leaving everyone to their own devices to get their plane ticket. I recently booked my ticket on Virgin America (my favorite airline) and the total cost (including taxes and fees) for the roundtrip ticket was 166.19. Here is my itenerary: Thu, Mar 25, 2010 San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS)Depart: 07:00am Arrive: 08:30am Flight 900 (on Airbus A[masked]/200) Total Travel Time: 1 hr 30 mins Sun, Mar 28, 2010 Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO) Depart: 08:45pm Arrive: 10:15pm Las Vegas, NV (LAS) to San Francisco, CA (SFO) Flight 917 (on Airbus A[masked]/200)
Hotel Booking: I haven't booked any hotel yet but based on interest I will try to confirm the spot by the end of this month. I'm leaning towards
Hard Rock Hotel, but I'm open to suggestions. Obviously we don't have to stay at the same hotel but I think it would be nice plus I may be able to get a discount for the group.
Things to do: The only definite on my schedule is that I'm going to see
Russell Peters at the Hard Rock Hotel Casino on Saturday night. I have extra tickets so if you're interested in coming with, please
]email me directly.
Firming up the details: Once I get an idea of the number of people interested, I will communicate additional logistics details. Hopefuly I've covered everything. Free feel to make comments or email me directly if you have any questions or concerns. I hope to see you on the strip!!! -Lakeisha
