Stern Grove concerts!
Last year was such a blast so I had to do it again. For those of you who don't know about the Stern Grove Festival, it's an admission-free performing arts series, in Sigmund Stern Grove, a beautiful outdoor amphitheater located at 19th Avenue and Sloat Boulevard in San Francisco. About Maceo: Maceo Parker is one of the living legends of funk, sharpening his chops while playing saxophone for James Brown and cultivating a signature sound recognized worldwide. Bay Area soul singer Darondo has experienced a recent resurgence in popularity, coming out of retirement to share his shattering falsetto and gravely bass with fans, new and old.
Details on the meetup: The concerts start at 2:00 pm but the secret to getting decent seats is to get to the park early so I'm getting there early to claim a spot. I need people to help me claim a spot and keep me company.
Food and Drink: Stern Grove festivals are essentially big picnics so please bring something to share with the group.
