Dr. Frank S. Greene Scholars Program: 12th Annual Science Fair

The 12th annual GSP Science Fair will be held on Saturday, January 25, 2014. The fair is a 3rd – 12th grade STEM based annual event hosted by Cypress Semiconductor of San Jose, California. Strict adherence to scientific methodology and experimental design is required. Each scholar is required to perform experiments and/or comparative product testing with variables. No demonstration or pure research projects are accepted. Scholars explore numerous periodicals, library books, journals, internet sources and industry professionals in order to gain a clear and in depth understanding of their chosen experiment. A bibliography must be included. Scholars are required to create a project abstract, research plan and trifold science fair board to effectively communicate their findings to a panel of judges with STEM and professional backgrounds.

If you have kids in 3rd-12th grade, I'd highly recommend attending/

Volunteer Opportunity: Be a Science Fair Judge! The Greene Scholars Program is currently registering individuals to participate as judges. Our GSP program has continued to grow and they now have 110 scholars participating in the Science Fair. So they need as many judges as possible! They are seeking judges from a variety of professions such as teachers, administrators, scientists, engineers, corporate careers, etc. This is a great networking opportunity as they will have a cross-section of individuals in a variety of fields participating as judges. This was my 3rd year volunteering and 2nd time as a judge. Great time and great kids! Ready to see the kids get their awards at the banquet this afternoon!

    Hi there,

This may be an obvious question but if you RSVP'd on meetup to volunteer however did not physically go to the website to sign up does that mean you are no longer able to participate as a judge? Thanks

I would like to attend along with my 10-year-old son. This is his second year in the STEM program and I'm sure he would like to participate in the Science Fair. Do you know if it can be a group participation like a class project or his own research plan? I will also share it with his teacher they may want to be judges.

I'm a forensic analytical chemist and would be interested in helping judge if needed
