Announcing a new meeting for Onyx!
What: Ladies Night Out Tour Concert [Michelle B's Event!]
When: Friday, March 28, 7:00 PM
Concert Ticket: USD49.50 per person
Where: Click the link below to find out!
Who should come: Anyone who wants a good night of some REAL soul music and R&B before everything went all 'Chris Brown' and 'Fantasia' on everyone.
Why: Ever have the urge to do the running man but a safe venue like a wedding is no where in sight? You can do that, and other dances here, and you will FIT IN! The nostalgia will be thick, the music will be great, and the crowd should be a little older.
Meeting Description: Do you shake your head when a "singer" called T-Pain ever wins an R&B award? Are you sick of all these teenie bopper groups who have no talent but just had some good marketing on 'Making the Band' or 'American Idol'? Or do you simply want to know why it never rains in Southern California? If thats you, then you need to RSVP for this event!
Michelle B. is calling all ladies of Onyx to the Paramount Theater in Oakland for this throwback concert featuring 3 of the biggest sensations of the 80's and early 90's: BBD ("Poison", "Something in Your Eyes", "Do Me!"), Keith Sweat ("Make It Last Forever", "Twisted", "Nobody"), and a group with local roots, Oakland's Toni Tony Tone ("Anniversary", "Feels Good", "It Never Rains..").
These groups helped define the end of an era of music where you actual had to have the whole package of not only churning out a pop hit, but good looks, good dancing, and GREAT song writing! You'll hear everything from soulful ballads to sexy pop hits, so you can sit back close your eyes and nod your head or start wilin' out like an evangelistic tent meeting!
Just a guess, but the crowd should be "grown and sexy", meaning late 20's through mid 30's and beyond, so don't worry about the riff raff. A majority of people should be there actually for the music, and reminiscing on the good ole days!
So, if this sounds like right down your alley, RSVP to this event with a YES and get in touch with Michelle B. You will be meeting up with her and the rest of the group on the night of the performance so hopefully you can buy tickets as a group or the seating is open. According to the Paramount Theater website, tickets range from $49.50 - $84.50, so you probably want to snag some early. Doors open at 7PM, and concert starts at 8PM.
For any other discussion about this event, or if you want to attend and have ideas or questions, hit up the official Ladies Night Out thread on our Onyx message boards!
See everyone there!
