It’s been a bit quiet here lately, but we’ve got another interesting meetup lined up for you all. To mix things up a little bit, we’re joining forces this time with the Geek Dinners, "where geeks in London come out to play". Geek Dinners have a long history of running web-themed events with dinner speakers ranging from Google's OpenSocial developer, to the BBC iPlayer team.
Joining us is James Gardner, the Head of Innovation and Research at Lloyds TSB. He will talk a bit about the book he has got coming out soon, to and tell us some amusing anecdotes about medieval banking datacentres and internal bureaucracy.
Because we are hosting this together with the Geek Dinners, the number of places will be split evenly between the two. This means 15 spots available for GeekDinner people, 15 for OpenFinanceCoffeeClub members.
*It's buy your own Humus.*
If the space runs out, we'll find somewhere bigger! Just sign-up for the waiting list and it'll all be okay.
I thought it was well organised, and the topic of the speaker quite thought-provoking: how to use concepts of market-making to create interest in innovative ideas. I quite enjoyed meeting up other attendees in the pub drinks afterwards.
Thank you for organising this event, and look forward to the future ones.
