This will be the second Meetup for Open Source Saturday in the new location!
1) John Fields will talk a bit about the Open Document Format: who, what, when... and most important to OSS, why!
Then he will demonstrate the Open Office.org software suite in action. A whirlwind tour: Write a letter, crunch some numbers, view a presentation.
Closing wth a specific application since we ran long last time: make a PDF document with embedded hyperlinks and bookmarks from Word document.
2) TBA, but probably a specific demonstration of apache web server configuration for linux.
3) Question and Answer period. Ask the group anything that is related to OSS, FLOSS, Copyright, etc. Especially questions that start with "How would you...."
Come join us in the Coffee Shop with free WiFi for your laptop and big comfy chairs for the early birds...
Sep 06 Meetup: Firefox web browser and it's magical world of extensions.
Open Source Software (OSS) is the product of necessity. Got a sore need, or maybe just an itch? Maybe someone else has already solved the problem and made the solution public! There are thousands of free programs out there but it takes two to share.
Bring your problem and we will do our best to find at least one way to solve it. That is the spirit of Open Source.
So what do you need to get done today? Presentation requests needed by definition. :)
