does anyone have experience or advice on what wireless broadband service and/or card to use with linux?  looking for something that is supported by manufacturer and/or service provider or at least works consistently w/o root or privileged access.  dont mind doing initial config but end user not capable of command line or even gui config.

would prefer to use att, but not restricted to doing so.  open to usb or pcmcia card (solution is for laptop obviously).

and willing to invest in hardware to try solution if service is month to month (aka no contract).  otherwise need a successfully tested solution.

using ubuntu hardy (but can use gutsy or feisty if necessary) on dell p4 laptop.

thanx.
