1) what does your auto.master and auto.misc configs look like?
2) What does DF output look like before and after? I think that output should have everything in it.
Sounds like a behavior change in a later version of autofs is a possibility.
server: ubuntu hardyclient: linux mint 14.1 = ubuntu quantalusing ldap & autofs (automount nfs home shares on server) for roaming profiles on LAN. all the ubuntu lucid clients work fine; the issue below is only w/ the new linux mint client.on it, romaing users can login fine & home dirs automount fine to /blah/home/homedir. just like on lucid clients. BUT if autofs is running it masks the /home so that the 1 local user on the client no longer has its home dir!for exampe: roaming user = billy.bob, local user = admin. roaming user logins & his home dir = /blah/home/billy.bob - all fine. but whether or not roaming user is logged in, as long as autofs is running, /home is empty! if autofs is off /home/admin exists. with autofs off, i can still manually mount billy.bob's home dir to /blah or wherever & /home/admin exists, so its not the mounting or the ldap login. somehow autofs is mounting something to /home or doing some odd thing.btw admin user is excluded from ldap on the client. again /home/admin is gone even when no one is logged in, as long as autofs is running. autofs isnt configured to mount anything to /home, only to /blah/home/ideas?
