As I announced on Sat, we are going to be reworking the mail server software I wrote (about 10 years ago) on Thursday nights. To that end, and to my eternal embarrassment, I have posted the old code for all to see.http://code.google.com/p/spammenot/
You need to join the project to get commit writes but anyone can pull it down I think. Despite the fact that it has run stable for year after year after year, I know it has bad programming practices in it. Plus there are features I want. Both are why I want to rewrite the darn thing.
The new one will be in modern perl, object oriented with a web-framework front end, released as code and also as an virtualization appliance so the Winders folks can use easily it. So we will be touching upon and using... Linux, perl, mysql, SMTP, POP3, IMAP, TLS and SSL, telnet and netcat, ssh, vi, screen, tcpdump, svn, VMDK (vmWare and VirtualBox), RFCs, testing methodologies, quality as a culture, ham and cheese on rye, and more...
