South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner and Intermediate/Hackathon tracks

These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack. You can be just interested in expanding your devOps horizons or someone that just wants to learn more about this cloud thing. The Intermediate track is for a experienced devOps, some python experience, and an understanding of OpenStack core. Some advanced OpenStack devOps will join the hackathon from time to time. The Advanced track is for seasoned OpenStack devOps to discuss blueprints and code. Each Advanced devOps meetup will focus on a different OpenStack core project.

Drink, food, whiteboards and wifi provided by Yahoo! Bring a laptop if you want to code or to install DevStack to take away with you. These meetups will run on alternate weeks from the San Francisco meetups. All the cool kids go to both.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob

Was a nice technical overview of OpenStack, especially for someone new to OpenStack.

Strong presentation, wish it had covered deployment topologies and recommendations for hardware.

I attended the Beginner section, and came away with a very good understanding of OpenStack. Kudos to the presenters from Mirantis.

I am looking for some insight from the openstack community on a new solution that I am in the conceptual stages of building. It's an open source mobile device management project. Is this the right place to get some discussions going around the use of openstack in an open source project? I am hoping to get some validation that openstack would be the right solution for us to build on top of.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
