South Bay OpenStack Meetup, Beginner track

These meetups are community based and focused. The Beginner track is for someone with little to no experience with OpenStack. You can be just interested in expanding your devOps horizons or someone that just wants to learn more about this cloud thing. The Intermediate track is for a experienced devOps, some python experience, and an understanding of OpenStack core. Some advanced OpenStack devOps will join the hackathon from time to time. The Advanced track is for seasoned OpenStack devOps to discuss blueprints and code. Each Advanced devOps meetup will focus on a different OpenStack core project.

Drink, food, whiteboards and wifi provided by Yahoo! Bring a laptop if you want to code or to install DevStack to take away with you. These meetups will run on alternate weeks from the San Francisco meetups. All the cool kids go to both.

Updates will be published via the meetup email list, OpenStack community blog, and twitter via @sarob

Presentation was a good high level overview of OpenStack and I though the presenter and his colleague did their best given the time constraints. Right for beginner level.

I thought that the scope and content were just fine for what I expected from a Beginner Track. My goal was to learn enough context to get a running start on actually implementing a lab system, and that's exactly what I got.

I agree too.. good enough to get started in the lab.. Although, it would be nice to some sort of a "show-n-tell" going along with the presentation.

Good introduction. Where would the slides be posted?

Sorry, I was expecting a more business level explanation of OpenStack and its pros and cons versus other open source and proprietary cloud solutions. It was too much technical deep dive in my opinion for a beginner track

It was a good overview/introduction to openstack. The presenters are knowledgeable. There were likely discussion with good questions from attendants.
