Just how big can OpenStack get? - Tues 6:30pm @CloudSIG in Menlo Park

From: Dave N.
Sent on: Monday, August 22, 2011 10:46 AM
Hey folks,

I'm organizing an event tomorrow night (Tues) to discuss the future possibilities for OpenStack. See below for the event summary. See Meetup or the CloudSIG for further details.

1000 Marsh Road,
Menlo ParkCA

It has been a year since OpenStack was announced at OSCON. The community responded with broad support for the idea. But what has been accomplished? Where does OpenStack seem to be going?  And more importantly, where are the business opportunities? In this meeting we will hear from a consulting company, an OpenStack distributor and representatives of OpenStack itself. Please join us at this meeting for what is likely to provide a glimpse into the future of the software program that could become as widely adopted as Apache.

  • Joe Arnold ( blog) of Cloudscaling. Deployer ofOpenStack Object Storage (aka "Swift")
  • James Urquhart ( blog), Cloud Programs & Communications Manager, Office of the Cloud CTO, Cisco Systems
  • Rick Clark, Co-founder of Openstack, previously of Rackspace, will also be there for the Q&A discussion
I hope to see you there!
