Hi all,

You may have noticed that the license change redaction process has passed over Salt Lake City. For those unfamiliar with the license change, read this.

The result of this change is that all edits made by contributors not agreeing to this license change had to be redacted out. Sometimes, entire roads will go missing, but most of the time the changes are more subtle: bits of roads that will be misaligned (see example below) or a road with just a small piece missing. Also, I find that road attributes (bike lane, max speed, oneway) has vanished in places.

So please look out for these errors and help fix them! One thing you can do when you edit in JOSM is: download an area, and then look for the objects that have been touched by the 'redaction bot' by hitting ctrl-F to open the search dialog and enter user:"OSMF Redaction Account" to highlight the objects last modified by the redaction process. It won't show you stuff that has been deleted, but it gives you an idea of where to focus your remapping attention.

The damage here is nowhere as bad as in some places (check Burbank, Ca for example) but there's work to be done!

I find that especially the area around West Jordan, Midvale, and Holladay are affected. Started repair and remap work there.
