“An enemy is one whose story we have not heard.” Gene Knudsen Hoffman
This meetup will focus on the practice of listening - to You, to Source, to Others. Learning to listen is perhaps the greatest challenge we face - it is the primary path to understanding, to empathy, and to compassion and love. It is the foundation for conscious relationships, and the key for cultivating peace with all that is.
This practice will primarily borrow from the Compassionate Listening Project. The originator, Gene Knudsen Hoffman, was a Quaker, student of Thich Nhat Hanh, and international peace worker.
We will begin and end our meetings with a meditation exercise designed to listen to your heart and beyond. In the space between, we will practice compassionate listening to each other - along with authentic speaking, and care-full inquiry.
This meetup will be held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at my home in west Asheville. Tea and water will be available. There is no financial requirement but there will be a request for donation.
