Micro Hack Day

  • Jan 5, 2013 · 2:00 PM

Come together to hack together on your own stuff.

Every Saturday afternoon a few of us from the OpenTechSchool get together at Mein Haus am See to code and hack on our own projects. And we'd like everyone to tag along. Whether you are working on your secret startup mobile app or just going through an online course to learn coding, feel free to come by and hang with us. And in case you are stuck or have a question, there are other coders around to talk stuff through with.

Let the fun begin.

PS: This is no workshop and it's not guaranteed we'll stay there all day but we'd be happy to meet you.

I was thinking we might benefit from a short introduction: what we work on, what we'd like to learn or ask. What do you think?

Things I do: build my home page using processing.js and node.js, develop a FOSS Android app for health research, learning Arduino, I teach creative coding (Processing, SuperCollider). I can show a node.js multiuser editor I built for workshops, where you can see many editors on the screen at the same time.

I'd like to learn how to draw pixels on an Android canvas without automatically refreshing (and loosing) the old pixels, to be able to position graphics in a canvas and then stick the to the background.

I'd like to know how to use couchdb or mongodb on Android, to store free json data on a database, and have it synced to the server.

Hi! I'm a graphic designer, and we're trying to push forward a few personal projects as well as preparing for the comeback to client work next week.

I'm really interested in improving my JS and getting my hands on an Arduino in the next weeks.

A few people are already here. Ring at the 3rd level. If no one opens try the 5th.

Do you have to pay 15 euros to come to co.up? I'm not a member so it sounds like I'm a visitor.

Any special reason why this was changed to CoUp? Not that I have anything against it or anything. Just curious.

This time most of us will be at coup for a meeting. So it's easier to cover the shift.

In general we are looking for other locations as Haus am See is a bit too noisy for some of us to work on their projects.

Check out Melis Coffee on Prenzlauer Allee 51. Has unlimited Wifi 24/7, great bakery and also great working space. Much better than Mein Haus am See and Co-op ;)
