Workshop: Learn Programming and Data Processing with Python

Curious about programming or data science, but don't know where to start? This is the third of OpenTechSchool's regular meetups, where we help programming novices along the path to becoming awesome coders. People of any skill level are welcome to attend, but our curriculum is geared towards those with little to no prior experience.

Participants can work at their own pace and start anywhere in the curriculum, but for our returning students, this meetup will focus on data processing, the third course in Open Tech School's Python curriculum. We'll learn how to store information in databases, write queries to extract useful information, and make beautiful graphs from the results!

We ask that you bring your own laptop in order to participate. Please download and install a copy of anaconda before the meetup (you can find it here: If you can't get it set up correctly, don't worry - we'll be happy to help you when you arrive.

The workshop is completely free, but seating is limited, so it's important to sign up only if you plan on coming. If you find that you can't make it for any reason, please free up your spot so that someone else can dive in. Thanks, and looking forward to seeing you there!

No worries, you can go through the exercises at your own pace. Our sessions are really about helping you help yourself anyway.

Sorry, I didn't make it [society and corporate world don't advertise Father's Day as loud as Mother's day] because I forgot. Again my apologies.

Bah, I forgot it was Father's Day and am doing family stuff so cannot attend, if anyone needs a slot! I would love to participate in a newbie one soon, as I have to teach coding this fall.

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
