Tech Talk by Dan Sneddon from Cloudscaling.

Tech talk by Dan Sneddon: Production-Grade OpenStack With Advanced Networking and Resilience.

We are excited to have Dan from Cloudscaling for this talk. Dan is a key technical leader at Cloudscaling and it is a great opportunity to have him share his thoughts.
Cloudscaling encapsulates OpenStack technology into a production-grade cloud infrastructure system that provides advanced networking, resilient service distribution, and public cloud federation and compatibility.

Dan will talk about how Openstack is evolving and how the network architecture is rapidly changing. His presentation will bring up key challenges and potential solutions for tomorrow's elastic cloud networks, as well as present the unique approach that Cloudscaling is taking. He will also bring us up to date on the latest work in Openstack Quantum and share his vision for the future of virtual networking as it applies to elastic clouds.

    That was a great talk!

Dan Mentioned "Sheep" and the ability to clone a cloud. Something related is:

I mentioned some work done on CloudSuite and a demo which involved simulation of a set of servers. You can find those here:

The key thing to read (from that page) is:

To faciliate micro-architectural simulation of CloudSuite applications, we prepared CloudSuite images running on Simics full-system simulator. The Simics images allow the simulation of CloudSuite applications running on up-to 64 cores and were released at our ISCA 2012 tutorial: "CloudSuite on Flexus". The Tutorial involving this is here:

You can find additional information about Simics on Wikipedia here:

I am hoping to hear what's there in Grizly release 2 of Quantum and how that is tied to Cloudscaling and how that compares with Rackspace's Cell implementation and globalization of Keystone & Glance modules.
