Get Long and Lean - Sunday Ocean Bike Tours - Ride for Fitness or Cruising

Ocean Tour – Mindful Exercise - Singles & Mingles Bike Rides on Sundays

Every Sunday (now at 3:00) afternoon ride leaving out of the shopping center across from Balboa Island Bridge in Newport Beach.   Three different rides from this starting place and all routes try to avoid cars and stay on bike paths as possible.

NOT a ‘pack ride’.  Beach cruise, train hard or both. Have fun, meet like minded people, be safe and enjoy the beauty of where we live. Open for all levels.

Boardwalk Route (The Mainstay)

Tour Balboa Island alleyways, across the ferry, left to the wedge and then the boardwalk both ways on the ocean. - 2+ hours.  It is a ride I do all the time and is great for cruising, mindful appreciation along the ocean with stretches that are great for hard intervals if you so choose.

Crystal Cove

Bike to Corona del Mar beaches and then to Crystal Cove bike path.  On to the state park camping area that overlooks the ocean.  Back to Crystal Cove beach return. A few small short and steep hills.  Walking bikes is fine. Many times we see whales from the path.

Hello Roz and biking experts out there,

I need some advice on what type of bike to get. For the tours or the terrains that the group mostly going to, what kind of bike would you recommend to have? road? mountain? would any of the hybrid work (cross between mountain and road, cross between beach cruize and mountain, and cross between beach cruize and road)? i know, too many to choose from! I think I like the hybrid between the beach cruize and the mountain but not sure if it will work for the terrains that we are going. And last but not least, I'm a begginer too :)

    Thanks.
