Samhain 2011 Weekend Celebration


Our highest Sabbat approaches on the Wheel of the Year – the final harvest, Celtic New Year and a time to honor and welcome our Ancestors across the veil once more. Join the Order of the Phoenix Rising and Tear of the Cloud Grove ADF as we celebrate Samhain weekend from

Friday October 28th – Sunday October 30th


Location: Hilltop Lodge at Camp Is-Sho-Da

                  East Greenbush, NY

Take I-90 eastbound to Exit 9

Take Exit 9 to US Route 4

Turn left onto US Route 4

Take the 1st right onto Upper Mannix Road

The 3rd left is Camp Is-Sho-Da

** We will have glowsticks on the entrance gate to the area**


This is a heated lodge with electricity, running water, restrooms,  a shower, kitchen, sleeping area (bunks) , tables, benches and a fire place.

Please bring a lawn or camp chair for your seating comfort




Tentative Schedule of Events

Friday October 28th


4:00 pm – 6:30 pm - Arrival, registration & settle in


6:30 pm - Dinner, followed by Bardic night, ghost stories and general discussion



Saturday October 29th


9:30 am – Breakfast, followed by open activities


1:00 pm – Lunch, followed by open activities


3:00 pm - Tear of the Cloud Grove Samhain Ritual


6:00 pm – Ancestors Dumb Supper


8:00 pm - Order of the Phoenix Rising Samhain Ritual


10:00 pm – Séance


Remainder of evening - open activities



Sunday October 30th


10:00 am - Continental Breakfast, followed by clean-up


1:00 pm - End of Samhain 2011 weekend, farewells


Stay for the entire weekend or come and go as you please. This is a weekend to get away from it all while enjoying the magick of Samhain and ways of old with friends!


Tentative Menu Friday Dinner:   Chicken and veggies in cream sauce over rice Pot roast with potatoes and vegetables veggie platter fresh bread   Friday late night:   Chicken soup snacks   Saturday Breakfast:   pancakes (plain, flavored) scrambled eggs sausage patties (regular and turkey) oatmeal and cold cereal available   Saturday Lunch:   sandwiches (assorted cold cuts) chicken soup, beef soup salad   Saturday Dinner (dumb supper):   Pork loin roast with sour kraut and potatoes Chicken and veggies with garlic sauce tossed salad bread   Saturday late night:   vegetable beef soup bread veggies   Sunday breakfast:   bagels muffins and/or pastries cold cereal and oatmeal available



The Samhain Ancestors Table


We will be honoring our ancestors during the weekend with a special Ancestors table, to be utilized during the entire weekend. We encourage everyone to bring an item to place on the table in honor of a departed loved one - human or animal. Invitations will also be available for those wishing to fill out for their Ancestors and then be placed on the table.


Please feel free to bring a drum or other musical instrument if you have one, tarot decks or other divination as well.

    This was definately a fun weekend, good food, good time, great interaction between both groups. Had fun camping again (even if it was in a lodge!!!).
