Jai, please do not take it that way. My point is that I did not organize the nuts and bolts of the event, but wanted to make sure this community knew about it and had the opportunity to go. How else are you all going to know about these wonderful events?

So this was just a restaurant Promotion event under the garb of meetup. Post 'n Promote it ...and forget it. Nice tactic by the restaurant or would that be business as usual ?

Delicious food as always and fun music from Ship of the Rising Sun!

Hey everyone! My sincere apologies for the confusion. There was a lack of communication with the restaurant and the chef. There were three seatings 2, 5 and 7pm. I was told to come at 8pm for the live music. This is an annual event that I posted here on the meetup. I did NOT organize it. I could not be there at 2pm because I teach full time. I hope you all didn't expect me to be there from 2-9pm :) I'm bummed to miss many of you, but please understand that I work full time outside of this group. Everything I organize I do for free. I also pay to have this meetup group. I am thankful you all had a came out and hope you fully enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I look forward to seeing you at future events that I organize. I hate to hear that some of you sat alone because not enough people were there. I spent many hours there .... [masked]pm. I for some reason was not getting emails about the confusion. I got Otto's call, but that was it. I hope you enjoyed the food non the less.

Heather, you were luckier than me. I landed up eating alone :)
I saw Otto's message that the time was changed to 8pm and decided to go then, ran late due to Thanksgiving dinner, called the restaurant and landed there at 8:45pm. No one was there (did everyone leave in 45 mins?). Bolivian owner there was quite evasive as to if anyone from meetup was yet there ...saying they are yet around, etc etc. Figured out no one was there, but yet decided to stay and eat since it would not be appropriate just leaving after making a reservation (need to revise my code of ethics!). Strange though that the organizer has not posted even once today ;)

Good! It's great to see a healthy and live twist to the normal Thanksgiving foods.

Terribly organized--unprofessional and inconsiderate. Apparently the time was pushed forward five hours, but the organizer never changed the time on the meetup and did not email all attendees to let us know. I arrived at the wrong (yet posted) time and would have ended up eating alone if there hadn't been one other member who showed up. I've been an organizer for several years and always make sure to update times/meeting locations/rendezvous details, have a visible sign so each member feels welcome and let the venue know if any changes occur. For two 2 hours' transportation time and $50 spent on my meal, I was expecting a group event with my fellow raw foodies.

Confused now if 7pm (when the music thing starts) or 2pm would be the better time to go ....

Hi Amber, Is the meetup meeting at 2pm or later? Thanks!

    November 22, 2012

  • Jai

I just called (10:15am PST) and they took the reservation for 2pm (our meetup time, I guess, as listed above).

I just made a reservation for 7pm on the phone. It was easy, and no pre-pay was required...

I just phoned the Reservations number at Pena Pachamama and the voice mail was full. Is there another way to make a reservation?

We are a family of 5 plus 2 children. We can't attend? I have tried to rsvp for 7 and I get a message saying no more than 2 guests?

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
