Sensei Richard Carr from ReLIONce Self Defense will be instructing us in the use of the Kuboton (Yawara) and Street Survival Self-Defense.

For the past 13 years, Sensei Richard Carr has dedicated his life to the training of Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu mixed with personal touches in street survival self defense from Sensei Jamie Dyson, who has over 35 years of training.

Sensei Carr's personal goal has been to gain a pure knowledge of the art of Jujitsu and the anatomy of self defense and to empower those who have been powerless. He has spent the last several years focused on Women's Survival Self Defense and the structuring of practical self defense programs for children.

Sensei Richard is my Jujitsu teacher, and I feel I learn something new with him in every class. He is dynamic and is always learning and improving his didactic and personal practice, however he knows the basics so well, that is what makes him such an excellent instructor. This seminar was great!

Wonderful class. Rich opened my eyes to a new dimension of the kuboton. I like the "gather round" setting he provided for the class, as well as the calm manner everything was presented. Thanks for another good meetup.
    •  Some effective self-defense techniques using the kuboton. I especially liked that you could just as well use a pen, flashlight, keys or empty hands applying the same techniques.

Nice street variations of some classic defenses using the kuboton. I especially liked the variation of the rear-naked choke...
    •  I thought the Meetup was very good, and the material was well presented.
