Indoor VOLLEYBALL (called Wallyball).

  • every Monday
  • TIME: 7:30pm at Red Bug Park - arrive by 7:20/7:30 pm - (we play for 2 hours and 20 minutes)

A group of Wallyball players have been playing /on-going at Red Bug Lake Park for over four years now and has quite a following.  Usually a eighteen people (sometimes even two dozen) show up each Monday.   Space is limited due to the demand.

If you like volleyball you will probably enjoy wallyball.    **New players who are interested please send an email to Royce prior for more info. - ALL NEW PLAYERS PLEASE LOOK AT both of these YOUTUBE VIDEOS of Wallyball in action - links are below.

LINK two: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B8Dh7Colhlk

For some, the sport might be too demanding / as it requires certain and demanding physical abilities.  Some can quickly take to the game while others don't.  We play 4 vs 4 -or-  3 vs 3 format.

Have you played volleyball ?? Even if you haven't, are you willing / able to take on the demands of such physical activity?

**Since the group has grown, and for safety and the fairness of the play/players...  and since we are balancing the needs of the active-committed players — THUS any player who has never played volleyball and/or who might be unable to handle the physical demands of the required action should first attend a special test session - Please SEND AN EMAIL to Royce requesting more info)..

We can also set up a special time so new players can test their abilities.  -  And there is another separate Wallyball group which plays on Wednesday nights with an easier 6 vs 6 format.

PLEASE send an email requesting info (and your interests and your abilities).

=============== ABOUT WALLYBALL============

This awesome sport adds a whole new dimension to the exciting game of Volleyball. The general concepts of wallyball are very similar to indoor volleyball. Featured in a racquetball or squash court, Wallyball provides the element of surprise as an ordinary volley can go a whole new direction with spiking the ball off the walls in many directions.

Wallyball is not just volleyball played in a racquetball court. It is a separate sport with separate rules, and playing the sport requires the development of a separate set of skills. Wallyball is a faster game than volleyball and a must is hand eye coordination, balance, strength, and agility. You must have a good combination of these attributes. Wallyball is a great workout and could be compared to the speed of an indoor soccer game.

Wallyball is more than just off the wall; it's crazy, wild, and exciting!

Meet in Park Office or at the racquetball court # 8.    Those can go into the park office and find restrooms and ask direction to racquetball court.  Arrive by 7:20/7:30 pm

The park is located on Red Bug (between 436 & Dodd) - entrance to park is Merivale - Drive/park your car near tennis courts. Racquetball courts are in the back behind the tennis courts.

Cost will be $ 1.00 or $ 2.00 dollars per player. We rent the court(s).

Drink machines are available - but suggest you bring plastic water bottle or similar drink.

Wear appropriate attire for sport activity - including sneakers/running shoes etc.. - (and if you have, some wear protective knee pads)

Wallyball is played inside a racquetball court - so there is NO air conditioning - just a fan.

You can stop playing at your own discretion and if you have any health issues - stop playing - Note: there is no medical insurance in public park. Play at your own risk.

SEND EMAIL to ROYCE and ask for The RULES OF WALLYBALL & for video links - :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
