The A&H Associates, volunteer corps of the Art & History Museums – Maitland proudly present Culture & Cocktails, the not-to-be-missed social event for art lovers! Culture & Cocktails is held on the second Friday of every month from November through April, and takes place both inside and outside of the A&H’s Germaine Marvel Building, 210 W. Packwood Avenue, Maitland.
Anna Bond, owner and creative director of Rifle Paper Co. of Winter Park, presents an exhibition titled The Art of Illustration. The exhibition features illustrations and sketches behind the products that make up Rifle Paper Co., in addition to a series of original works. This is the first solo art show for Bond, and the first time she is making her originals available for purchase.
Bond grew up in New Jersey and attended graphic design school in Virginia. In 2006, she moved to Orlando to take a job as an art director at Relevant Media Group. Afterward, she pursued freelance illustration and design work which included designing posters for local and traveling bands. It was during this time of creative experimentation that she fell in love with illustrating for stationery and products. Together with her husband Nathan, Bond launched Rifle Paper Co. based out of their apartment in 2009, and the brand has since exploded with growth and excitement in the industry. The company now employs over 50 people and is carried in over 2,500 stores around the world including Anthropologie, Pottery Barn, and Barnes & Noble. Bond is the sole illustrator behind the brand and her style is known for its hand-painted gouache illustrations, vibrant color palette, and whimsical tone. Her work and products have been featured in Martha Stewart Living, InStyle, The Wall Street Journal, Real Simple, and numerous other publications.
Culture & Cocktails guests will also enjoy music by The Cook Trio, sponsored by Performing Arts of Maitland, delicious food truck fare, popcorn from The Enzian, and fun!
