Introduce yourself.

Why did you join the goup?

I visited the Slice Gallery upon arrival to Orlando in 2013 and have an interest in art, especially painting, as well as photography.

What kind of art do you make, or want to make?

Digital photography. I try to extract, maybe abstract, the special fine details of things one can caputure through the camera lens. I also do street photography and have lots of examples of bus people. While I will not pass by any good picture, I would describe my general style as abstract realism. I will not photograph a flower that I would not eat.

What experience in the arts, or training in the arts, do you have (none is required at all)?

Into photography since my first 35mm SLR. I love it that now everything can be digital. I have attended workshops with Ernst Haas, Harvey Lloyd, Bryan Peterson and others. I taught photograpy, "Learning to See in Color." in and extension program when I worked at UAB as ITS director of the Lister Hill Library of the Health Sciences.

I am an accomplished amateur photographer and have some of my favorite photographs at Orlando Slice, 72dpi, SmugMug, Flickr and a few other sites. Retired medical school library administrator who has lived in many places.
