Who are you and what is your interest in open source spatial

I work at Southern Downs Regional Council in GIS and Assets fields. My primary interest is in GIS and have been actively working within the QGIS community for about 6 months now. I use QGIS (with a bit of MapInfo on the side) almost every day in my position in council and am working on features that will hopefully improve it's usability and attractiveness. My believe is that QGIS can be a good alternative to the paid solutions within local governments especially for smaller councils where money for software can be tight.

What is your cunning plan for open source spatial in Australia-New Zealand?

To promote its use in Local Gov more.
